O Berlin

Berlin! Berlin! Berliiiin! Beautiful Berlin I love you! There is no city like Berlin, no city at all! Its where history meets future, ugly meets pretty, new meets old, east meets west. Its where you do the most intreresting people spotting, eat at the most expensive fancy restaurant or at the cheapest smallest bistro. You can find the most expensive exclusive designer clothes or something homemade second hand super vintage. You can listen to live street music at any S bahn station or listen to classy classical in a concert hall. Its just a fantastic city! It has a rare story and a history that few cities have.

I was here today for a meeting with Lyon, Lyon that laughs until he cries when I tell him about how we got stuck in Florence with the transporter, Lyon that holds an RM Williams boot 5 cm from his face and smiles at it like they share a secret then looks at me and says " Im filipino. I love shoes", Lyon that takes the Rigger in his hand, looks over to the store on the other side of the street and says " you know, Iv been looking for something that could beat the Red Wings for so long. And now I think Iv found it". Thats the Lyon I had a meeting with today, one of Berlins coolest Lyons.

And now im having my afternoon coffee in a hot, sunny, beautiful Berlin. Watching the Berlin people walking by looking very cool in this rare late summer heat. I need to buy sunglasses, someone stole mine in copenhagen, and my secon pair is gone, so thats what Ill do now, buy sunglasses. Then ill be on my way back to Lüneburg and Deutch Evern.

A warm summer evening in Heidelberg

Another lovely city in Germany, Heidelberg. As Regensburg and Bamberg its located in the south. The nature is beautiful and it has a huge castle on top of a hill by the water. As soon as I get a chance I will upload some pictures from here.
Last night when I was walking around down town I passed by a cinema where they showed the movies in their original language! Its really rare to find those here so I was very surprised. I had one of the best bruchettas Iv ever had and at 9.30 I went to the cinema to see Woody Allen´s Vicky Christina Barcelona. It was vey good, Penelope Cruz got an Oscar for best supporting actress in this movie and she deserves it! For those who has yet not seen it, go see it, its special but very good.
Heidelberg is full of cute cafés, restaurants, ice cream bars and chocolate store, yesterday a lady told me that Heidelberg is the city of romance, and it is really romantic here. For so many swedish people Germany is just a country you drive thorugh when going south, a country with a ugly language and a not very exciting culture. But its so much more than that! To me, Germany is one of the nicest coutries in Europe, Berlin is one of the most exciting cities in Europe when it comes to fashion, art, music and ofcourse history. Düsseldorf, the richest city in the country, is fantastic. Hamburg, Köln, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, München, Leipzig..all of them are worth a visit. The smaller towns such as Regensburg, Bamberg, Amberg, Heidelberg, the ones that did not get destroyed in WW2 have so much history, beautiful buildings and a lot of stories to tell. The oldest concentration camp from WW2 is in Dachau, a smaller town right outside München, a town that also is very nice but unfortunaly only remembered because of the camp. I could write a whole book with tips on places to see and things to do in this country! Next time you are driving down to Italy, France or any other warm sunny country, take a few days to see Germany. You will not regret it

Ceasar

Im a huge fan of ceasar salads.. I dont know what it is about them but I love them! The best one Iv ever had is at café rival in Stockholm, Im not saying that just because Im from Sweden, it really is the best..The second best is at a restaurant in Berlin that I cant remember the name of..Now im sitting at a restaurant in Bamberg having a ceasar salad which is in the top ten. Its 9 pm and still warm enough to sit outside in just a tshirt.. its still summer down here. But I can feel that its getting getting to an end, its dark already, a month ago it would have still been light enough to read a book but not anymore.
Bamberg is the perfect summer town, Bamberg and Regensburg. Both bavarian citites. I love bavaria in the summer, the biergartens are full of people and its so green everywhere, I still feel so at home here, it has been about 2 years since I lived here but its like a second home to me, after all I did spend two years here, during those two years I didnt get to see much more than the farm I worked at and the facilites where all the horse shows were. So Im really glad that I now have the chance to see so much more of it, cause it does have a lot to offer. In about a month the oktoberfest will start, Bavaria is then full of tourists from all over the world, München is like another city during these two weeks. For the two italian days they announce all the traffic information on the radio in italian and you can hardly hear one german person in München, it is like a italian invasion.
Everyone has to go to oktoberfest at least once in their lifes, it really is something special and has something for everyone.

Regensburg

This could be my new home town! If Im moving to Germany, this is where I will move. Its beauuutiful. A city full of cute biergartens, a huge cathedral, nice shops, beautiful people, nice nature, not too far to München and really close to all the big horse shows..I cound get used to living here. Maybe not in the middle of the city, but on a small little horse farm a few minutes outside of town, with big pastures and some fat happy horses..that would be a good life..could go to all the horse shows in Kreuth, go to München for shopping, drive down to Italy for skiing or go to the Garda lake, this is the best place on earth! Its close to all the places I need. except for the states, but nothing is close to the states..
The weather here is beautiful, its almost 30 degrees already and the sun in shining.
The only thing I would not like about living in this town is that the streets are really narrow, Im not the best driver ever so it would not suit me at all..I could just get a bike I guess..Or ride on one of my fat happy horses. I could have the city make a small pasture right in the middle of the city for my horse, so when I would ride in here I could leave my horse there during the day..thats not such a bad idea..
